Stade Olympique de Rabat was built to replace the athletics facilities that were removed during the renovation of the main Prince Moulay Abdellah Complex. Officially known as the Annex Olympic Stadium of Prince Moulay Abdellah, it primarily serves as a venue for athletics competitions and training, featuring an eight-lane track and nine sprint lanes dedicated to the 110-meter hurdles.
During AFCON 2025, the stadium will play a unique role. Although not originally designed as a football ground, its central pitch meets international football standards and with 21,500 covered seats and a modern, fully equipped infrastructure, Stade Olympique de Rabat is perfectly suited to host AFCON fixtures and fans from across the continent.

Accessibility
Stade Olympique de Rabat is located within the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, one of the capital’s most important sporting hubs. The area is easily accessible for both local and international visitors, with multiple transportation options, whether you travel by train, tram, bus, taxi or car.
Train
Rabat has two main train stations: Rabat-Ville, located in the city center and Rabat-Agdal, situated in the southern district of the same name. For visitors heading to the stadium, Rabat-Agdal is the most convenient option. The trip from the station to the sports complex takes around 10 minutes by taxi, bus or car.
Tram
Rabat’s modern tram network connects the city with Salé and covers much of the metropolitan area. While the stadium is not directly served by a tram stop, nearby stations such as Gare Rabat-Agdal and Gare Rabat-Ville provide good access. From there, it’s easy to continue your journey by taxi or bus to the stadium.
Bus
Public buses also serve the area around the sports complex. Line L38 stops within walking distance of the stadium, offering a practical and affordable option for fans. Be aware that buses may be crowded during match days, though fares remain very low.
Taxi
Taxis are a fast and cost-effective way to reach the stadium. A ride from the city center or one of Rabat’s train stations typically costs between 7 and 10 Moroccan dirhams (MAD), depending on the time and distance. Petit taxis operate within the city, while grand taxis are available for longer routes or group travel.
Car
For those arriving by car, the stadium is easily accessible via main routes such as the N1 highway. Whether you’re coming from central Rabat or driving in from Casablanca, the roads are well-maintained and clearly signposted. There is ample on-site parking around the complex, with an estimated capacity of 5,000 vehicles, ensuring a smooth experience for matchday visitors.
