On 4 July 2024, the draw for the qualification of the Africa Cup 2025 took place. Based on the draw, CAF has announced the qualification groups and confirmed the official matches for the qualifiers. CAF also confirmed that these matches will be played between September and November 2024. For exact dates, please refer to the match schedule.

In total, 48 countries have been divided into 12 groups of four teams each. The top two teams from the eleven groups, so excluding the host nation Morocco’s group, will qualify for the Africa Cup 2025. In Morocco’s group, only the best team besides Morocco will qualify.

The draw has set up some interesting matches that will determine the final 24 teams. In Group G, the reigning champions Ivory Coast will face off against the 2012 champions, Zambia, in their first match. Also, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will play against Benin on the first match day. Former champions Senegal also have an exciting match in Group L, where they will go up against Burkina Faso.
