Stadium information

Stade Adrar, also known as the Grand Stade d’Agadir, is a modern football venue located about 5 kilometers from the city center. Officially opened in October 2013, it serves as the home ground of Hassania d’Agadir. The stadium’s architecture is distinctive. with its oval shape and stands built on artificial slopes, it resembles a stepped pyramid. The design was created through a collaboration between Moroccan architect Sâd Benkirane and renowned Italian architect Vittorio Gregotti.

Ahead of AFCON 2025, the stadium has undergone extensive renovations. The capacity has been increased to 41,144 seats, and facilities have been fully modernized. The athletics track was removed to create a football-only layout and a new roof was added to provide greater comfort for spectators. These upgrades not only prepare the stadium for AFCON 2025 but also for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco will co-host. In a second phase planned for 2028, the stadium’s capacity is expected to increase further to 70,000 seats.
