Head Coach Egypt

At the helm stands 58-year-old Hossam Hassan, a legendary former international. He previously managed top clubs such as Zamalek, Al-Masry, and Ittihad Alexandria, and also served as head coach of Jordan. His mission is clear: to write history by leading Egypt back to the throne of African football.
Star Player Egypt

Mohamed Salah is not only the undisputed centerpiece at Liverpool, but also the tireless engine of Egypt’s national team. In the 2024/25 season, he crowned his performances with an impressive array of awards: Premier League Player of the Season, a fourth Golden Boot, and Player of the Year honors from both the PFA and the Football Writers’ Association. His statistics, 33 goals and 23 assists across all competitions, speak volumes about his consistency, creativity, and sharp eye for goal.
Yet Salah is more than a quick-footed forward with a killer instinct. He embodies leadership and symbolizes the hopes of an entire nation. His story and his efforts off the pitch make him a cultural icon. Salah is a role model, empowered not just by his achievements, but by his impact both on and beyond the field.
Egypt AFCON History
No country has left a deeper mark on the Africa Cup than Egypt. The Pharaohs are not only the most successful team in the tournament’s history but also a symbol of continuity and ambition across the continent. Their record is filled with glory, but also with the pain of near-misses.
Egypt won the very first AFCON in 1957, instantly establishing themselves as a powerhouse. Over the decades, they grew into the dominant force in African football, winning seven titles in total. Their most iconic era came between 2006 and 2010, when they lifted the trophy three times in a row which is still a unique achievement unmatched today.
However, after 2010 came a long wait. The Pharaohs reached the final twice more, in 2017 and 2021, but had to settle for silver on both occasions. Despite these disappointments, their regular presence in the latter stages underlines their remarkable consistency. With nine finals and countless semi-finals, Egypt remain a permanent fixture at Africa’s summit.
Road to AFCON 2025
Egypt had little trouble qualifying for the 2025 tournament. The Pharaohs dominated their group from start to finish, underlining once again their status as one of the continent’s most stable teams. With commanding wins, a rock-solid defense and just two draws, they went unbeaten. The result: a convincing group win with 14 points and a goal difference of +10, finishing clear of their rivals.
